Medical Insurance Renewals
Medical insurance is incredibly important for children in the remote communities we support. Without it, families are unable to afford treatment for many illnesses including malaria, bilharzia and cholera, or cannot get simple cuts and abrasions cleaned which can lead to infection and serious complications.
The effect of not getting timely treatment is that children can get seriously ill and miss many days of school from ailments that could be sorted out in a relatively straightforward fashion. It costs approximately £1 to insure a child for a year.
On our recent visit to Ghana, we went to Mangoase school to hand out renewed insurance cards to nearly 500 children. These can literally be life saving.
We now insure nearly 1,300 children at four schools in the region and it is thanks to all of your kind donations that these children can live safe in the knowledge that they can be treated for free if they fall ill.
