On 15th September 2014, I will be heading off to Tanzania in preparation for the great Kilimanjaro adventure. My aim is to raise £1,500 for the trust and to have the experience of a lifetime. I've planned the trip with Exodus and will be joined by about 15 other people.
On Day 1 we start at 1,950 metres above sea level and after about 6 days of some serious trekking, we should arrive at the snow-covered summit at 5,895 metres. The route takes us from desert to glaciers and ice cliffs, but it's not for the faint hearted. I'm training hard for this - doing 4.5 hours of yoga & 5 hours of running a week - but I'm not sure anything can really prepare you for this sort of challenge. The donations of friends, families and supporters are keeping me motivated now and it's your generosity that will continue to keep me going as I head to the summit.
If I'm successful in reaching my fund raising target, I will be able to take 6 water filters or insure 1,500 children in Africa on my next visit. So, not only do I get to take on this awe inspiring adventure, but I also get the chance to support our amazing trust and its goals.
