RAISING THE DEEP
We are so proud to be the chosen charity for this incredible music event.
Raising The Deep is set to be one of the best music events in Oxfordshire this year, with all of the funds raised being donated to the Helen Hodgkins Trust.
The event has been organised by Chris Farr and Ric Woodall to celebrate the life of a dear friend of theirs, Matt Suttle, who was sadly lost in a motor vehicle accident.
Chris said "We used to regularly put on events in Banbury at the old Hobson's choice venue between 1996 and 2001. Matt was an integral part of those events.
So we have decided to come out of the woodwork for this one-off spectacular in his honour".
"We had no desire to profit from the event so asked Andie, Matt's fiancé, to suggest a charity that was close to them."
Andie has been incredibly supportive of the work Emma has been doing so there was no question in Andie's mind that she wanted this event to support the Helen Hodgkins Trust.
The founder, Emma Hodgkins, was friends with Matt. She ran the London marathon in 2012 (shortly after Matt passed away) in memory of him. That London marathon medal went to Matt's parents and Emma's running shirt with "running for Matt" printed on it went to Andie..... obviously once it had been washed.
Emma says "Matt Suttle was a genuinely amazing guy, I have many happy memories with him and Andie. This event means so much to me for so many reasons”.
"It's set to be the best music night in Banbury this year, Matt's friends and family are coming from far and wide. It will be a reunion for so many people, celebrating the life of such a special person."
